How's the story so far? Is first person working for you? I hope so. I figured today, I'd give everyone a break from "the eye" and just write to all of you.
Maria and I have been travelling, yes, travelling, surprise! We journeyed to Everglades National Park on a Tuesday, at the end of the month of January. It was barren of people and the furthest thing from a super spreader event, and we loved it. We like social life, but when it comes to venturing around during a pandemic, we'll pass on the people aspect of everything.
The saddest part of the trip was that the only Gators we saw were the Gators along our route on 41, which was still cool. I did get a few pictures of the park, and they will be featured in the next Dark Nest Travels video on youtube.
The park is millions of acres with plenty of ponds and walk outs. Gators, on the other hand, were still too cold. The temperatures down here in Florida have been below seventy degrees and this week we're expecting a warm up of seventy and higher. Gators like the warm temperatures before they bask in the sunlight.
The drive was beautiful but too long to not have taken the Mothership. We drove the "Mario Kart" and it was extremely uncomfortable to drive six hours. No cruise, a six foot five body, and a small car do not mix with that kind of drive. I guess we learned a valuable lesson, research the park and if it's too far, drive the Mothership. That's all I have for you, please come back tomorrow for Part Four of Other Side of a Couples Life (I think that's the title). Thanks!
