It’s
early, and I’m awake. I never realized being isolated could be this eye
opening. It’s eye opening because without the structure of getting up, getting
showered, drinking coffee and having an obligation to work or to be somewhere
else, my life is a bit different. The weather change, from the midwest winter kicking my ass, to jumping feet first into the southern sunlight of Florida has
done a lot to my sinuses. Maybe I can blame them for the lack of sleep or this
chronic getting up in the early hours. I don’t know, but do know as of now,
about four in the morning, my thoughts are rampant, and I staged my laptop next
to the bed so that if I do wake up I can write. So here I am, writing, and
sleep is the furthest thing from my mind.
I arrived
to my new writing location, driveway surf, kind of place. Okay, I’ll come out,
my parent’s driveway. We’re separate entities as my wife and I live our life
like neighbors to my parents, and they live theirs. The great thing is that I
get to talk to them whenever I want to, and they’re always just footsteps away.
I do like the beauty of Florida, maybe not some of the people in the state, but
the sunshine, the birds, and the weather are all enough for me to be inspired
and ready to jump into some fiction.
On
writing, well, I do have a story, or Jim Falcon has a story, Vasectomus,
that is being published in an anthology called The Gates of Chaos, which
I’ve probably mentioned. I also submitted another story of mine, Maji-Man,
to Weird
Tales back in July. They prompted for writers to tell a tale based on a
piece of artwork on their social media page. Unfortunately it is taking longer
for them because they moved the artwork from October’s issue, to another one,
giving me an option to withdraw or keep it in the contest. I didn’t withdraw; I
figured that if they reject it, oh well, it is a pretty good story.
Other
than that, that’s what’s going on in my world of Fiction and life. Thanks
for stopping by, I appreciate it.
